Camera-shy? Your wedding photos can still feel like you

If the idea of being photographed all day makes you uncomfortable, you’re not alone. Most couples aren’t used to a camera around them, and you don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose.

I take a relaxed approach: capturing your wedding as it happens, without turning the day into a photoshoot.

You don’t need to know how to pose

Think of the laughter during the speeches, a hug from a family member or a quiet minute together. Those moments often happen when you’ve forgotten about the camera.

When we take a few couple portraits, I’ll offer simple guidance so you’re not left wondering what to do. You can talk, walk together and just be yourselves.

Natural photos and family photos can work together

Natural photography doesn’t mean missing the group photographs that matter to your family. We can agree a list beforehand, then work through it without keeping everyone away from the celebrations for ages.

You get both the spontaneous moments and the family photographs you’ll want to keep.

A real example from Sutterton

At The Thatched Cottage Restaurant in Sutterton, I photographed relaxed couple portraits around the gardens, bridge and pond. The softer evening light and natural surroundings made a lovely setting without overcomplicating anything.

You can see the photographs in my Thatched Cottage wedding story. For another local example, take a look at Grace and Nicholas’s Boston Stump ceremony and White Hart Hotel celebrations.

What if the weather has other ideas?

If it rains, we can use sheltered or indoor spots and work with the light we have. The forecast shouldn’t take over your wedding day.

Planning a wedding in Spalding, Boston or Peterborough?

I’m William, the photographer behind Apollo Photos, covering weddings across Lincolnshire and nearby areas.

If you’d like natural photographs without awkward posing, send me your date and venue. We can have a relaxed chat about what matters to you.
